Freeimages is part of a network of free stock photography related resources:
- Freeimages.co.uk was the original site and contains our main library of images.
- Freeimageslive.co.uk contains images that users have taken themselves and contributed to the site,
these are available for use under similar terms to those in the main library.
How Does Free Images Work?
Simple: Browse the site for an image you like and download it. If you use it in a design of any kind then you need to mention that we were the source of the image, check the full terms for details. The site is supported through advertising on each page (which we try to keep to a minimum). The images were taken either exclusively for the site or were sourced from contributing photographers and illustrators ('freeimageslive'). Our ad revenue is used to improve the site, pay for operation and to support our nominated charity, a kiva lending group.
Freeimages was launched in February 2000, we launched our community stock image sharing site freeimageslive in October 2009. We continue to add fresh new images to the site on a regular basis along with enabling our contributor community to learn and grow

About our Images
Images on freeimages.co.uk were taken specially for this site, and intended for use as stock photos covering a wide range of subjects. All images are suppled with no watermarks on them.
You may not redistribute these images as a collection or part of. If you use our images a credit link to this site is required. All the images are original to this site. Most images are 1152x864,1200x1600, 2500 or 3500 pixels on longest side, all are 24-bit maximum quality jpeg. File size ranges between 100k and 3000k (approx.), Images on freeimageslive are somewhat larger, up to around 3200x3200 pixels.
We can only supply the images free of charge because the site is supported by
the advertising you see and image users linking back to our home page.
Without these links we would not be able to continue hosting the images without charging for access to them.
There are more than 5000 images on www.freeimages.co.uk, a collection of more than 16,000 images on freeimageslive.co.uk plus an extra 1000 images exclusively for our site members

The images on this site were created using the following equipment,
Olympus u800 Digital Camera
Kodak DC210 Plus Digital Camera,
Epson Digital Cameras,
Nikon Cool Pix 900, 950, and D200 & D700 Digital Cameras,
Sony Cybershot DSC-S50 Digital Camera.

Photographic prints were scanned using a three-pass Epson GT-6500 flatbed scanner.
Minolta Dimage 5400 Slide Scanner.
Advertising and Link Listings
Due to an advertising agreement with dreamstime we are not currently accepting new advertising with commercial stock image sites.
Link Exchanges Link exchanges are only accepted from other quality free stock photo sites and relevant resources.
We WILL NOT add text links to commercial design agencies, legal firms, bed and breakfasts etc. added links will include the no follow tag as per advertising best pratices

Freeimages.co.uk's nominated charity is Kiva - we make regular donations to our kiva microloan group at freeimages for credit.
